The Endangered Languages Project: What is it?

It has been a buzz on Google Plus about the language support that the vast and reaching corporation has given.

Today, Google launched The Endangered Languages Project, a website devoted to preserving over 3000 ancient tongues that are only spoken by a few thousand people.

As a Linguist and a complete lover of Language, I understand that language changes.

I understand that language may be a completely different form in a couple hundred years. I understand that language will do what it will and there may not be much to stop it.

But…this doesn’t mean that languages should be allowed to die and disappear. Being able to save these languages is most possibly the same as saving the culture, the customs and the history of a society.

I encourage you to visit, sign up and join the discussions. Click here to go to the site.

Enjoy and Reed.
