Summer Strength and Spirits of Heat
For my first poem in my Poetry Project of 55, I’m writing an ABC Poem.
Definition: An ABC poem has a series of lines that create a mood, picture, or feeling. Each line is made up of words and phrases. The first word of line one begins with an A, the first word of line two begins with a B, etc.
The following is my ABC poem about summer strength and spirits of heat…
About the heats of spirits fly
Bounding through air thickets and straw
Come feel the strength of the summer heat
Down rows of sparkled flowers
Even ’round the winding rivers
Far past the cattails and willow tress
Giving a breeze to guide hot spirits
Hail to the summer of the gods
In and above the clouds of sound
Just below the brights of lights
Keep summer warm and the spirits close
Love through sprinkles and drops of sun
Memories are made to last in warmth
Enjoy and Reed.

Enjoyed the poem..the last line really speaks to me.
